2026 Rate adjustments - More information.

Why were the rates adjusted?

“The new rate structure is essential for us to accurately recover the costs associated with delivering high-quality water services to homes and businesses and ensuring that rates are aligned with the resources required to keep the water utility system running at optimal performance now and in the future.” Juan Crosby, CRRUA Executive Director.

“It is also required by the New Mexico Finance Authority (NMFA) as a condition for CRRUA to remain eligible for future infrastructure grants and financial assistance,” Crosby said.

What will the adjusted revenue be used for?

  • Continued delivery of water that meets or exceeds federal and state drinking water standards.
  • Replacement of aging wells, tanks, pipelines, meters and other critical infrastructure.
  • Investing in system upgrades instead of waiting for breakdowns.
  • Ongoing maintenance and emergency repairs.
  • Maintaining quality staffing and technical expertise.

“The rate adjustment follows recommendations in  a third-party evaluation of CRRUA’s operations commissioned by the New Mexico Environment Department and a Cost of Service study conducted by Jacobs Solutions, a U.S.-based international technical professional services firm,” Crosby said.
