CRRUA Passes January 2026 Operational Control Arsenic Tests

The Camino Real Regional Utility Authority (CRRUA) passed its monthly operational control arsenic tests for January 2026, as verified by an independent laboratory. CRRUA provides water and wastewater services to Sunland Park and Santa Teresa, NM.

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Maximum Contaminate Level (MCL) for arsenic is 10 parts per billion (ppb).

Test results released by Eurofins Environment Testing, a water lab certified by the New Mexico Environment Department (NMED), show the Sunland Park Arsenic Treatment Facility (ATF) at 4.4 parts per billion (ppb,) Santa Teresa Community ATF at Not Detected, Santa Teresa Industrial ATF at 4.0 ppb and Border Entry ATF at 5.0 ppb. The test results are from samples taken Jan. 26, 2026.

Not Detected means that while arsenic was present, the concentration in the samples tested was too low to reliably measure based on the analytical procedure used.

CRRUA continues to provide water that is compliant with arsenic standards under the Safe Drinking Water Act,” said CRRUA Executive Director Juan Crosby. CRRUA provides all arsenic test results on its website at crrua.org and on Facebook at facebook.com/crruainfo.
